Commission Terms and Agreement
These Commission Terms govern all bespoke and private commissions produced by AURUM Atelier. By initiating a commission request, the client agrees to the terms described below. A commission refers to any object that is designed or produced specifically for a client based on their concept, request, or specification.
2. Initial Request
Clients requesting a private commission should submit an initial concept including a brief description of the idea, reference material such as sketches or images, and approximate dimensions or scale of the intended object. This information allows AURUM to determine whether the project is technically feasible and suitable for the commission process.
3. Consultation Phase
Following review of the initial request, a consultation may be scheduled to discuss the concept, materials, scale, and design intent. A consultation fee may apply. This fee covers the initial review, consultation, and concept evaluation. Consultation fees are non-refundable.
4. Concept Design
Once the consultation phase is completed, AURUM may develop concept designs including CAD modeling, technical drawings, preliminary material specifications, and estimated object weight. Design and development work is performed specifically for the client and forms part of the commission process.
5. Prototype Validation
Before precious metal casting begins, a prototype may be produced using high-resolution 3D printing or other modeling techniques. This step allows the client to evaluate proportions, details, and structure before final production. The client must formally approve the prototype and design prior to production.
6. Production Authorization
Production of the object begins only after final design approval by the client and full payment of the production invoice. Once production has begun, modifications may no longer be possible.
7. Materials
AURUM objects are produced in solid precious metals, including but not limited to gold and platinum. Precious metals are sourced from internationally recognized suppliers and are valued according to market prices at the time of production. Final material costs depend on metal weight, metal purity, and fabrication requirements.
8. Production Timeline
Production timelines depend on the scale and complexity of the object. Typical production timelines range between 4 and 8 weeks following final design approval and payment.
9. Intellectual Property
All design concepts, drawings, models, and technical developments produced by AURUM remain the intellectual property of AURUM unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients receive ownership of the final object but not the design rights.
10. Cancellation
Due to the bespoke nature of commissions, consultation fees are non-refundable, design work is non-refundable, and commissions cannot be cancelled once production has begun.
11. Returns
Custom commissioned objects are not eligible for standard returns. However, AURUM may offer material redemption according to the applicable Refund Policy.
12. Delivery
Completed objects will be shipped using insured delivery services appropriate for valuable goods. Shipping conditions and delivery timelines are described in the Shipping and Delivery Policy.
13. Governing Law
These Commission Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from commissioned work shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts at the registered place of business of AURUM Atelier.
